Exploring the expansive subterranean depths of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom yields numerous classic rewards for dedicated adventurers. Among the nostalgic gear pieces available to collect are the Trousers of the Hero, which pay homage to Link's classic outfit from the original NES title. Finding this unique armor piece requires exploring dangerous subterranean zones, but adding it to your collection is well worth the effort for completionists and fans of classic Zelda lore.
Exact Location of the Trousers of the Hero
The Trousers of the Hero are located in the Depths directly beneath the Mount Nabooru region in Hyrule's Southwest area. Specifically, players must navigate toward the Corvima Highlands Mine area within the Depths to locate the treasure chest holding the item. Preparing Brightbloom Seeds and stamina-replenishing dishes makes tracking down this obscure chest much smoother.
Players can descend through the nearby chasms to reach the subterranean cavern system efficiently. Keeping up with daily gaming news often reveals convenient shortcut routes and exploration tips discovered by the community for navigating the gloom-filled Depths. Once inside the mine area, look out for the stone structure containing the chest.
Base Stats and Upgrade Requirements
When initially claimed, the Trousers of the Hero grant Link a base defense stat of 3, offering standard protection for early-game exploration. While the base armor stats might seem modest initially, visiting Great Fairy Fountains allows players to upgrade the trousers up to higher defense tiers. Upgrading requires specific resources, including Star Fragments and Amber, to reach its peak defensive capability.
When worn together with the Cap of the Hero and Tunic of the Hero, the set provides a set bonus that increases Link's base attack power. This cosmetic and functional upgrade provides great nostalgia while maintaining utility during mid-to-late game battles. Collecting all pieces of the classic set serves as a great homage to the franchise's roots.
Alternative Methods for Unlocking the Armor
For players who prefer not to brave the Depths right away, there is an alternate method to acquire this legacy piece. Scanning the 8-Bit Link amiibo figure using the Nintendo Switch controller features a chance to spawn the Trousers of the Hero directly into your inventory. This provides an immediate unlock option for players who own the physical collectible figure.
However, finding the piece organically in the Depths remains accessible to all players without requiring additional purchases. Both methods deliver the exact same equipment piece with identical upgrade paths and stats, ensuring that every player can enjoy completing Link's vintage attire.
